Leadership

Foundations of Coaching

About this module

In this experience, the learner will take on the role of an Accounting and Payroll Manager at Eco-Eath Dynamics, a consulting firm that specializes in helping other organizations find environmental sustainability solutions. In a recent effort to reduce their own carbon emissions and align with their mission, the company has shifted to a hybrid remote work environment. By minimizing the need for commuting, removing the need for office space, and so on, they aim to decrease their ecological footprint while promoting a more environmentally friendly work culture. Recognizing the opportunity these changes present, Eco-Earth has begun exploring other avenues to better their company. One of these changes is to improve their internal training at the company, including a focus on their management team’s coaching skills.

In this module, the learner will need to develop their understanding of key coaching skills. This will include inclusive leadership, effective communication, establishing psychological safety/trust, emotional intelligence, and active listening. They will also be given the opportunity to practice applying these skills to coaching situations. By the end of this module, the learner will have a firm grasp of these foundational concepts and be prepared to put them to practical use.
